Where can I deduct additional health insurance premiums?

If you itemize deductions, you may claim out-of-pocket medical expenses, including medical insurance premiums you pay with after-tax dollars. The deduction is limited to the amount in excess of 7.5% of your adjusted gross income (AGI).

Note: Most premiums paid through payroll deductions are pre-tax, so you can't get an additional deduction for them.
