If you have not filed your tax return yet, you can correct your mortgage interest amount by doing the following steps:
• Select Federal Taxes
• Select Deductions and Credits
• Scroll down and select Show More at Your Home
• Select Revisit at Mortgage Interest and Refinancing and Insurance.

If you have already filed your tax return, you will need to amend your return to make corrections to the mortgage interest amount.
• Sign in to your TurboTax account.
• Select Visit my Tax Timeline
• In the 2016 Tax Year section, click Amend (change) return from the list of Some Things You Can Do
• In the pop-up window, Select Amend using TurboTax Online
• Select Continue on the We'll help you change (amend) your return screen
