For instance, cosmetic surgery isn't deductible, unless it's to correct or improve a deformity arising from, or directly related to, a congenital abnormality, a personal injury resulting from an accident or trauma, or a disfiguring disease. Also, illegal procedures aren't deductible.

Otherwise, you would need to show the receipt from the broker and other records from the surgeon to establish that you paid for a deductible medical procedure.

The surgery was for a penile implant to correct ED after prostate surgery. No receipts from doctor, hospital, etc. Just the one receipt from the broker. How can I find out if this type of surgery is deductible. I think it is paid for by medicare for those folks that are on it.

The leave paperwork is what I go from the doctor to give my employer so I could get medical leave to miss work to have the surgery. It is the FMLA paperwork.
