No you cannot deduct them if you did not pay them until 2017.  You will be able to deduct them next year on your 2017 tax return.  It does not matter what year they were"for" --what matters is what year you actually paid the tax.

No you cannot deduct them if you did not pay them until 2017.  You will be able to deduct them next year on your 2017 tax return.  It does not matter what year they were"for" --what matters is what year you actually paid the tax.
