I filed 2018 with TT Delux but the foreign taxes paid I entered on 1099's did not generate a foreign tax credit or schedule 3. What happened? Scott

There are over 20 types of 1099's; 1099-MISC, 1099-R, 1099-INT and so forth. Foreign taxes paid are not entered on "ANY" type of 1099 what-so-ever. In the TurboTax program they are entered under the Deductions & Credits tab in the "Estimates and Other Taxes Paid" section. There's a sub-section in their specifically for foreign taxes. So if you've already filed your 2018 return and it's been accepted by the IRS, you now need to file an amended return **AFTER** the currently e-filed and accepted 2018 tax return is completely processed in it's entirety by the IRS. That return is not completely processed by the IRS until "AFTER" you have received any refund due.
