If you didn't file your unemployment for 2017 you will need to either file a 2017 return if you did not or Amend Your Return for 2017 to include that information on your return. If you are filing a 2017 return, you will only include your 2017 mortgage interest on that return.

Your 2018 mortgage info will be entered on the 2018 returns we are currently filing.

For most of us, generally, all payments made and received between January 1 and December 31 are reported on the return for the year the payment was made or received.
