First, be aware that you posted personal info in this public Internet forum--a user community--which will show up in Internet search engines. No one from TurboTax Support will contact you through those methods, but no telling who else might try to spam/scam you. You can remove your personal info by editing your question. To do that, click the tiny blue 3-dot icon just to the right of your question title, and choose EDIT. I also flagged it for a Moderator.
"the system is not allowing me to file..."
That's not much info to comment on since you didn't say how it's "not allowing" and what you are encountering. So we have to start guessing. For instance, are you getting any error messages when you go through the REVIEW tab or try to efile? Maybe the Form 2555 is a clue. I'm a fellow user and not a tax expert. The following is a guess, and may or may not apply to you:
Do you happen to have a zero-income return on the Form 1040? I see you mentioned Form 2555. Did you exclude all your income with the Foreign Earned Income Exclusion and thus have a zero-income return? If so, you can't efile with zero income. You would need to add $1.00 of interest income, for example, in order to efile. If that's the error message you are getting about not being able to efile due to zeros on several lines, then that has worked for several others who posted in this forum over the years. One guy said he put $1.00 in the Other Income category and for the explanation line said "In order to efile."
If that guess is not your issue, then you need to provide some details so someone can comment today. But don't post any personal info in this public user forum.
@seakmike , agreeing with my colleague @mesquitebean about the dearth of information in trying to understand the issue you are facing, just wanted to point out
(a) your "email address" suggests that you are an employee of US State Dept. If that is true (??), your wages are not eligible for Foreign Earned Income exclusion ( using form 2555).
(b) you indicated that you had filed last year with no issue --- under same circumstances ? what is different this year ?
Please provide more info so one of us can help resolve the issue you are seeing.
