Hsa over contribution

I have over contributed to my HSA and am told I need to withdrawal $400 before April or it will be taxed. My question is, does this withdrawal need to be used on medical or do I simply need to withdrawal the over contributed amount?

Simply withdraw the amount you have over contributed.

The withdrawal must be performed as a "return of contribution."  The HSA custodian will have a special form for this.
