hsa excess contribution distribution

i had an excess contribution to my hsa which showed up on my 1040 for 2018. after i figured out what it was i had the hsa provider send me the overage and the earnings. in addition he provided the 1099 sa.

in premier i am able to enter the distribution info. when i look at the forms 5329, part 7, still shows the excess contribution and the penalty amount. form 8889 part 2 shows the distribution of the equal amount. i'm surprised i still have the penalty when i corrected the situation. but my real question is whether i've done the entry correctly and whether this will be the end of the problem. mostly don't want it still out there next year

thanks

was the excess withdrawn by the due date of your 2018 return. that should have been reflected on line 14a of form 8889

see this example

actually my problem started in 2017 but i  failed to noticed the issue on my filing for that tax year. i only noticed the problem when i went to file 2018 taxes, so once I realized what had happened i contacted the vendor and in may of 2019 they sent me the funds i had overpaid, as well as th 1099-sa form which reflects the excess contribution.

that said, my 8889 shows the distribution in the correct box. my real question is whether this will finally resolve the problem, or what else i need to do. thanks for your help
