TurboTax will automatically add the EIC form if you are eligible. Please see the qualifications for the EIC: What are the qualifications for the Earned Income Credit (EIC or EITC)?

The most common reasons why people don't qualify for the EIC are:

• Their AGI, earned income, and/or investment income is too high
• They have no earned income
• They're using Married Filing Separately
• Their dependent doesn't meet the qualifying child criteria (if claiming one)
• They're too young or too old (if not claiming a qualifying child)

You do not file for the EIC.

If you are eligible for the EIC, TurboTax will calculate the EIC for you and include it in your tax return.
