How do I enter a charitable donation the involves two different entities?

In support of the Boy Scouts (Via Trail's End), I made a $1400 Military Donation (purchased items sent directly to deployed military).  Does this qualify as a charitable donation?  If so, do I 1) list it as a donation in support of the Boy Scouts or U.S. Military and 2) since it was a monetary benefit to the scout troop, do I list it as monetary donation or Items?

Thanks for your help in answering this.

Regards,
Robert

This is a single donation. The party that you wrote the check to is the charitable organization that you should list. The organization must be a qualified charitable organization as defined by the IRS.

To enter a donation made by cash or check:

Select Federal Taxes
Select Deductions and Credits
Scroll down and select Show More at Charitable Donations
Select Start or Update next to Donations To Charity
Select Add a Charity
Enter the name and indicate that you donated money

Read the article below for more information on a "qualified charitable organization".
