Home office as an employee (not a business) for NY return

Although, you cannot take the deduction on your federal return, you would still enter it in the federal section for your NY return.

 

You can do this by selecting following:

  1. Federal
  2. Job Related Expenses under Employment Expenses
  3. Walk through the steps to enter your home office expenses for NY
