I filed my taxes on January 27th, about a week ago I received a letter from the IRS that stated they are holding my refund to process it more. I got my State refund back within a week of filing, but my Federal is being held. They said to not contact them and that it could be up to 60 days before I saw a return. I was wondering if maybe they flagged me for my son being an earned income credit. Maybe they were questioning it. I was questioning whether or not I filed correctly. He was born on July 8th, which means he lived with us for more than half the year (192 days). But I was reading on the form and it says "more than half a year, less than 7 months." But I was also reading that it doesn't matter when he was born, to put down "12 months" and he will still qualify. I can't find a clear answer. Does anyone know if my son met the requirements?

You are fine ... did you read this screen in the program ... it told you exactly what to enter for a child born in 2019 even if they were only alive 1 minute >>>
Sometimes the IRS does select returns for review when they are claiming the Earned Income Credit. It doesn't necessarily mean something is wrong.
I have attached a chart that shows the rules for claiming a dependent from IRS Publication 501. Under #3, you will see that at the bottom of the chart, it indicates that there is an exception for children born during the year. Even if your child was born towards the end of the year, you can still claim them.
