I have over 12,000 that should qualify for energy efficient credit but can only receive 1200. Can I carry this over ? And if so what do I do?

There are 3 separate credits, make sure you enter your improvements in the correct section. But for the most part, there is a $1200 cap and it does not carry over.
Solar panels, geothermal energy, wind power, fuel cells | 30%, no maximum, can carry over |
Windows, doors, insulation, and other energy saving improvements | 30%, cap of $1200, sub-caps on certain categories, does not carry over |
Efficient appliances (furnace, boiler, A/C, hot water heater) | 30%, cap of $600, falls under same overall $1200 cap as above, except there is a $2000 cap for a fuel pump or biomass stove, does not carry over |
Yes, that answered my question. Thank you.
