Please explain why you want to delete form 2555. I don't see another post from you with the background to this question.
My understanding is that form 2555 is necessary only if I were interested in trying to qualify for the foreign-income exclusion. I may be misled but that is my understanding at present. I am a missionary working overseas and received a W-2 from an American mission organization. It is my understanding that my income is exempt from federal taxes, therefore, the exclusion is unnecessary.
Your income is not exempt from federal income taxes, rather it is rendered non-taxable (up to a limit) by using the foreign earned income exclusion. So you want to use form 2555 in your case, or else you will be paying tax on your W-2 income.
Thank you kindly for this advice. I would still like to take form 2555 off of my returns, yet it does not appear in the “delete forms” list. The federal tax is so minimal that the frustration is not worth it to me. (The TurboTax hyperlinks to Form 2555 do not work and it is keeping me from filing our taxes.). I know that there will be a change to our taxable income, but that is the least of my problems with the deadline looming. Who do I talk to about removing the form as none, and I mean none, of the community answers work in my case.
You do have the option Clear and Start Over your return. To choose this option:
While this will require you to redo the return in its entirety, it will also delete any and all forms associated with the return.
