Form 1116 missing data but the form is not needed

During the check step, TT said there was missing data on Line 8 Form 1116. I paid a small amount of tax on some foreign stock dividends but Form 1116 should NOT be needed according to TT tax tips Help... "

• If all your foreign-taxed income was 1099-reported passive income, such as interest and dividends, you don't need to file Form 1116, provided that any dividends came from stock you owned for at least 16 days."

It appears there's some error that caused TT to include a blank Form 1116 even though it's NOT needed and now it wants data to be filled in.

I have the desktop version so I may be in the wrong forum.

Anyway, I figured out how to delete Form 1116 and it now passes the federal check. Hopefully, I didn't shoot myself in the foot with the form delete.
