Exempt-interest dividends

Hi,

Please confirm if I'm answering the below correctly as I questions wording seems confusing.

1099-Div form #8. Foreign Country or US Possession shows Various, #14-16 has no information. If I remember correctly TT used to have one option to either specify the state or to pick Multiple States. Now it's asking the following:

I earned exempt-interest dividends in only one state (has a drop down to pick a state or multiple states) - would I pick this just want to make sure I'm doing it right.

I earned exempt-interest dividends in more than one state (if I check this it's asking for each state and amount)

Yes, choose the first option (even though it doesn't make sense) - I earned exempt interest in only one state and then choose Multiple States to actually select ''various''.
