EV Charger Credit and Census GEOID

I installed an EV charger in 2023. TurboTax asks for the Census Tracts GEOID and the EV station address. Does TurboTax automatically determine whether the GEIOD qualifies for the tax credit, or is this my responsibility to figure that out and decide whether or not to enter the installation expenses in Turbotax? In particular, if TurboTax decides I get a tax credit for the EV station, do I accept that, or do I need to take steps on my own to make sure my property address qualifies?

No. TurboTax does not determine if the GEOID you enter is in a qualified tract. You must verify if your tract qualifies or not using the instructions provided within the TurboTax links and decide to claim the credit or not.
