Energy Saving Improvements
We purchased a propane furnace in December of 2018 but haven't claimed it as an Energy Saving Improvement on any tax returns. Can we claim it now for 2021?
No, qualified energy improvements must be claimed on the tax return for the year that the improvement was made. In your case that would have been 2018 if the furnace qualified for the energy credit.
