That is in the credits section.
It depends whether it is gas or electric, but there is a place to enter both.
Sign in to your account and “Take me to my return”
For electric continue through the screens until you see an option for "Energy-Efficient Building Property"
As you can see, that includes electric air conditioners.
Please see the screen shots below for that category.
Enter the information for your qualified electric heat pump in the box titled, "Energy-Efficient Building Property" if you click the Learn More link beside of it, you will see that it includes central air conditioner

@tholmanrockhill You are posting on a very old thread, and the program may very well have changed. So try this: in the Search box, with the magnifying glass, type "5695", and then click on the link Jump to 5695 if it appears. This will take you to the section of the program that addresses energy credits.
Thanks
I reviewed the form 5695 and cannot find anything relating to Energy Efficient A/C unit, or Heating and A/C System. However, I did find on the IRS site that Energy - Efficient heating and air conditioning systems qualify for the residential energy property credit for homeowner
I entered on Form 5695 in "Residential Energy Property Smart Worksheet" under "A" Amounts you paid for energy - efficient building property. It accepted and processed the allowable credit.
