So I guess my question is if I already get the EIC when I claim my children then why is the administration making a big to do about it?

Every year, some percentage of people who are eligible for EITC, fail to claim it, and IRS sends out public service announcements at tax time to remind people. Is this what you are referring to?

My earnings are below the EITC threshold but I didnt get the full amount of the EITC. Need help figuring out why I only got $293 and not $1000?
