Revisit the HSA section and go through the interview again to edit the HSA contribution information.
- Open (continue) your return in TurboTax Online. (If your return isn't open, you'll need to sign in and click Take me to my return.)
- Click My Account (top right of your screen).
- Select Tools.
- In the pop-up window, select Topic Search.
- In the search bar, type hsa.
- In the results box, highlight hsa, then click GO.
- You'll land on Your HSA Summary. Click Edit.
- Continue through the interview. When you see Here's what we have so far, click Edit next to the HSA entry.
- Again, continue through the interview. When you're returned to Here's what we have so far, click Done.
- Keep answering the questions. Answer Yes to Did you put money into an HSA in 2016?
- Next you'll see Let's enter your HSA contributions, where you can edit the contribution information. (Click the screenshot below for reference.) When finished, click Continue.
- Follow the onscreen instructions to conclusion. When you're finished, you'll see Your HSA Summary.
Note: If using the TurboTax
CD/Download software, you'll use the Find function (instead of "My
Account") to search for the topic.
