You would need a US credit with a US billing address to pay for one of the TurboTax online editions, if you were not able to use the Free edition. Or to pay for the TurboTax software to download to a personal computer.

For the US tax return itself, you would only need a Social Security number or an ITIN issued by the IRS.

Can I file online using TurboTax from Mexico, or will there be a firewall that requires me to only use TurboTax online while in the U.SA.?
