If that was a tax payment, then no. All you paid were your TurboTax fees. When you owe taxes (to the IRS or the state) TurboTax does not act as an intermediary. You pay your taxes directly to the taxing authority. For federal taxes, you have several choices.
- You can elect to allow the IRS to draw directly from your bank account by filling in the required information (bank routing number & your account number) on the 1040 lines 76b, c and d.
- You can pay the IRS directly via bank draft or CC at http://www.irs.gov/directpay
- You can elect the option to mail your payment to the IRS, at which point a 1040-V will be created by the program which you will have to print and include with your mailed payment.
For state taxes, not all states have all three options above available. What options are available to you, depends on the state.
