Dependent has 1095-A but I don't

My ex-wife has our kids on her Marketplace insurance and receives a 1095-A for them. I, however, have a 1095-C and do not have an policy shared with her. I am claiming two of our kids this year and my return got rejected because I failed to include a 1095-A form, which I do not have. What do I do going forward? Do I need to input ex-wife's info even though my name isn't on it and only my kids are?

Yes.  You will need a copy of the 1095A to enter on your tax return and indicate a shared policy with zero percent allocated to you.

  1. Enter the marketplace ID and policy number and the amounts from the form 1095.
  2. Select "I shared this policy with another taxpayer not on my return."
  3. Enter your ex-spouse's social security number, the start and end months and then zero percent for your portion of the premium, SLCSP, and APTC boxes

Your ex-spouse will do the same on her tax return but allocate 100% to herself.
