I itemized my deductions and Turbo Tax says that my itemized deductions give me more than the Standard deduction but in the final review it keeps saying that I'm getting the Standard Deduction. Then I get asked a question about my charitable contributions that I don't know how to answer

If your itemized deductions and standard deduction are within $300 of each other, the standard deduction plus $300 charity is the best deduction allowed. I would bet that is your case.
