We live in a 55+ retirement community in Vista CA. The HOA is non profit and this past year, spring 2021, the HOA installed solar panels on the clubhouse. All 256 owners paid their fair share.
The Tax credit allowed the Association is nearly $20,000 dollars.
We were advised today that each home owner would be eligible for a $71.00 solar/energy tax credit for this year. This amount is 1/256 of the above HOA tax credit. How should this be documented in my 2021 taxes?
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
You need to know the $ amount of your portion of the COST to enter into the program and the credit amount calculated should be the $71 they say you get.
Thanks for the response, I am requesting formal documentation from our management company. Kind of what I thought. REALLY appreciate the reply.
