Hello,

1) Can both parents report CHET contributions to a same account (married filing separately) if both parents contribute to the account?

2) If only 1 parent can report CHET contribution, who must it be? Can it be any parent or must it be the one who actually owns (signed up for) the account?

Yes, each can claim up to $5,000

 "(1) $5,000 for an individual who is single, head of household, or married/civil union filing separately;"
