Charity Donations Timing

I wrote a check dated December 29, 2018 to the Salvation Army and put it in the mail that same day.  The amount was $35.00.  This check did NOT clear until January 23, 2019.  Should I claim this as a deduction for 2019?  I did not receive an acknowledgement letter to help me figure this out.  Thanks!
