as I add my charitable deductions my amount own does not go down as it has in prior years.   If I put the total of all charities in one account it does is this an issue with turbotax or has something changed?

Most likely, you haven't entered enough itemized deductions to exceed your standard deduction.

Tax law changes in the past few year have increased the standard deduction, making it more difficult for many people to itemize.

Please see the TurboTax Help article What's my standard deduction for 2020? for more information.

I am having this same issue.  It says my total charity deduction is only $1,156.00 but I entered $26,846.00

My total itemized deductions entered total $42,956 but it is only calculating the total as $25,622.00

    Suggestions?

Look at your Schedule A to see the calculations for your Itemized Deductions, including Charitable Donations.  Also look at the calculations on Form 8283 for Charitable Donations that carried over to Schedule A.

In TurboTax Desktop, click on FORMS in the upper right to view the forms in your return.  In TurboTax Online, you will have to pay for your return in order to view forms/schedules.

There's also a limit on how much you can deduct. The basic rule is that your contributions to qualified public charities, colleges and religious groups generally can't exceed 60 percent of your Adjusted Gross Income (AGI)

Since we can't see your return in this forum, click this link for more detailed info on Charitable Donations.
