I have TurboTax Deluxe 2021 installed from a CD. I filed my Federal and Georgia state taxes a few weeks ago. We file jointly and took the $600 charitable contribution over the standard deduction.
My state tax refund came through yesterday and it was $35 higher than I expected. After calling the Georgia Tax office, I found out that Georgia also uses the $600 from the Fed form as an adjustment to income. TurboTax didn't carry this deduction forward to the state form. The deduction showed up on the state's system. She compared what she saw to the imported TurboTax filing and we saw that was the difference.
I then called TurboTax support and she said that there may have been an update addressing this after I filed. She said that the state keeps sending updates and one may have come in later to address that. This may be an issue for other states as well. Is anyone else aware of this?

I found this as well. I usually run several programs until I get the same number. I thought another program was giving me a state deduction I should not get. I called that company and they were able to preview the schedule 1 form 500 and saw the $600 charitable deduction. Still sure TT was right, I looked at the state website and there is was! So glad I investigated it instead of depending on the program. It would increase my refund by $40 if TT would add it before I file.
