Car & Truck Expenses Worksheet

I do not remember having to add any of the vehicle stuff last year since I didn't bother with it but for some reason this year it is asking me questions that I do not know how to respond to.

  1. Cost must be entered
  2. Fair market value must be entered

Why do I need to give this information? It is mainly used for personal use with the occasional trips to purchase supplies and bringing thins to the post office so that's why I never bothered "claiming" I guess?

What do I do?

You should only be asked information regarding your business auto use if you indicated in the program that you use your auto for business. You can delete the Car & Truck Wks and that will remove the vehicle and questions referring to it from your program.

In the desktop TurboTax:

1. Bring up the Forms mode by clicking on the Forms Icon on the top right of your screen

2. Choose the Car & Truck Wks in the list of forms

3. Use the Delete Form option on the bottom of the worksheet to remove the worksheet

In the online version of TurboTax:

1. Choose Tax Tools option on the left menu bar in the federal section of TurboTax

2. Choose Tools

3. Under Other Helpful Links choose Delete a form

4. Find the Car & Truck Wks and click on the option to delete it
