Can you deduct multivitamins etc

You cannot deduct the cost of nutritional supplements, vitamins, herbal supplements, “natural medicines,” etc. unless they are recommended and prescribed Physician or Nurse Practitioner as treatment for a specific diagnosed medical condition.

If these items are prescribed by a Physician you can itemize them as Medical Expenses in Schedule A but only the amount that exceeds 10% of your AGI is allowed to be deducted.
