If are paying property tax on a home you own you can deduct those payments if you itemize.

To enter the property tax in TurboTax, go to:

Property Taxes

Property tax (real estate tax) is an itemized deduction. It will not reduce your tax or increase your refund unless your total allowable itemized deductions are more than your standard deduction.

Also note that the total deduction for state and local taxes is limited. For 2024 the maximum is $10,000 ($5,000 if married filing separately). For 2025 the maximum is $40,000 ($20,000 if married filing separately) and there is a phaseout for AGI above a certain amount. The maximum applies to the total of real estate tax, personal property tax, and either state and local income tax or state and local sales tax.
