Can I claim part of the power bill on my home office expenses?

Yes, as long as you have met the requirements to claim a home office deduction, then a portion of your power bill can be claimed as a home office expense.

The portion that may be claimed is based on the size of the home office relative to the size of your whole house.  For example, if the home office is 100 square feet and the whole house is 1000 square feet, then you could claim 10% of the power bill as a home office expense.
