When I input mortgage interest and property tax in TT mac & also TT online, TT is not picking up itemized deduction, instead uses standard deduction. Hence "CA refund" remains the same when I input mortgage interest and property tax, while "Federal value" is getting changed.
This is for loan > 750K.
Providing screenshots
1. Where I inputted mortgage interest correctly
2. "Two year comp" form that TT generated, is using "11,080" for 2024 which is CA standard deduction value. For 2023, it correctly generated itemized 22,103 value.

After looking at this, it is impossible for me to duplicate the issue. To look at this in detail and to report a possible product defect, we would like to see a diagnostic copy of your return. The information in this file is a sanitized copy meaning there is no personal information, only numbers so that we can troubleshoot in depth, check for calculation issues, and to see how certain items are applied. Here is how to order.
For Turbo Tax online, go to tax tools>tools>share my file with agent. When this is selected, you will receive a token number. Respond back in this thread and tell us what that token number is.
If you use the desktop version, go to the black stripe at the top of the program, click on online, and then select send tax file to agent. Let us know what the token number is.
is there an alternate way to share the token, without having to share in a public thread?
No but the token can only be accessed by us and not the general public. Keep in mind, the file is completely sanitized and redacted - no PII. In fact, the file is going to only have numbers in forms and nothing else.
If you can provide with the number, we can see your numbers and give you an accurate account on why the itemized deduction does not record properly.
