Is it true that those who live outside the US and are US citizens have an automatic extension to file?  Do i have to do anything, submit a form or include it when i file?  Does the extension also include the FBAR?

@ericgrosman  The deadline for US expats to file their 2023 tax returns is June 17, 2024. (includes an automatic two-month extension granted to US citizens living abroad). You can file an extension to October 15, 2024 if you want.

@ericgrosman  agreeing with my colleague @maglib   just wanted to add that while the filing date is extended to June 15th ( or the next business day ), the  tax payment date  ( without interest and/or penalty ) still remains  the April 15th. ( or next business day).

If you suspect that you may owe monies to the Feds, consider  making an estimated payment.
