Are hair donations tax deductible?

My wife donated her hair to the Pantene Beautiful Lengths charity and I wanted to know if the donation was tax deductible? If so, how would I assign a value to it? Hair extensions cost a fortune so as a first pass could I use that as a frame of reference?

Unfortunately, they are not.  Donations of parts of human bodies (blood, hair, etc.) are not deductible per the IRS.  However, you might be able to deduct some associated costs.  See the following:
