Amounts differ in desktop from from printed PDF

I just completed and E-filed my taxes then saved the PDF.  Many of the amounts shown inside the application on Form 1040 are different than the amounts saved in the PDF file of the tax returns?    Even after closing the application and reopening it the difference remains.   Why are any of these amounts different?   This is seriously messed-up!  How do I know what numbers were sent in the E-filing???

The amounts are different on lines:  2b, 3b, 4b, 7a, and every subsequent line that relies on those....

They should be the same if they're both the same year - top right.  This public forum can do nothing.

The problem see to go away with today's software update.   Now the form inside the application matches what was saved in the PDF.   I wonder which version was sent to the IRS?

In a few weeks, you should be able to ask for a transcript from the IRS of what was filed. See Get Transcript, which you should be able to get online, if you can satisfy the IRS that you are who you say you are.

A transcript is a copy of the numbers on your return, not the graphics like boxes and lines and shading. Still, the right transcript (the tax return transcript should suffice) should allow you to confirm was was actually filed with the IRS.
