What’s the amount for the CTC per child this year?

For a child under the age of 17 the Child Tax Credit for tax year 2023 is $2,000 per child.  That amount has not increased for tax year 2024 as of this date.

There are no monthly child tax credits being issued in 2024.  That was only available for tax year 2021.

The 2024 Child Tax Credit (CTC) amount is up to $2,000 per qualifying child.  The CTC is nonrefundable, but you may be able to get a refund using the Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC) if you end up owing less tax then the amount of CTC you qualify for.
