Amend 1098t from 2018

So I didn’t submit my 1098t for my 2018 return . My question is will it be pointless seeing as I no longer have receipts from book expenses and etc ?

It depends, if your 1098-T has an amount in box 1 for tuition paid and you meet all the requirements to claim the Education Credit then it might be worth it to amend your 2018 return. 

There are two credits available, the American Opportunity Credit and the lifetime Learning Credit.

To amend your 2018 return:

2. Log into your account, and at your tax timeline select your "2018 Tax Year"

3. Select to "Amend (Change) 2018 return" and follow the directions
