Advance Child Tax Credit
I received AdvCTC payments in 2022 that I wasn't eligible for. How do I enter this into Turbo Tax? There is no spot to enter AdvCTC payments if it thinks you are not eligible.
Advance child tax credit payments were supposed to be entered last year on your 2021 tax return. There is no place to enter anything about monthly advance child tax credit payments on a 2022 tax return. Those payments were sent out between July and December of 2021, and had to be entered on a 2021 tax return. You would have received letter 6419 about them. If you did not enter them on your 2021 return you need to amend 2021.
