actual expense method

How do I know if I used actual expenses method before? the "note" states if you used it the first year, you MUST use that method the entire time you use the vehicle for business.

you'll have to go back to the return for the year when you first reported the vehicle

Thanks, but when I open that file, how do I find that information?

If you have mileage claimed, it was standard. If you see a list of gas, oil, repairs, etc, it was actual.
