I received a 1099-G for Unemployment and it  federal and state taxes withheld. It seems the only way I can enter on turbotax is by using override. Box 4 and Box 11 both have figures. What am I missing?

The 1099-G is issued if you received certain payments from federal, state, or local governments. Form 1099-G covers two types of government payments:

    • Unemployment compensation or paid family leave, or
    • Other Types of 1099-G income, including
      • State and local tax refunds
      • Business or farm tax refunds
      • Market gain on Commodity Credit Corporation loans
      • Taxable grants
      • Alternative Trade Adjustment Assistance (ATAA/RTAA) payments

Are you making the entry on the correct screen ????     Do NOT make overriding entries as this will void the accuracy guarantee and keep you from itemizing ...

That really doesnt look like my screen but when I missed it I went to help and typed 1099-g and jump to. I cant get screen shot to work and paste.

The main thing is I had finally noticed there is a small box under amount received I didnt notice. That box is asking if there was withholding. Your answer got me looking in the proper area even though the screens were different. Maybe different versions of the program. I have home and business.

    Thanks

Did you find it?  The screen shot above is for the Online version.  Yes you have to click the little box for withholding then the next screen opens to enter the withholding.
