Can you claim homestead property tax when you file separately? Michigan is saying my wife and I both have to repay the credit, we file separately.

Yes you can claim the Homestead if you file separate, but the Total Household Resources must include income from both spouses whether filing separately or jointly and be less than $50,000.  Net losses from business activity may not be used to reduce total household resources.

Yes you can claim the Homestead if you file separate, but the Total Household Resources must include income from both spouses whether filing separately or jointly and be less than $50,000.  Net losses from business activity may not be used to reduce total household resources.
