Will TurboTax pay my interest penalty? Form FTB 3805P was not included on my 2014 California state return and now I've been hit by CA FTB with a proposed assessment.
I filed my CA state taxes electronically in 2014. TurboTax made no mention of any additional forms that I had to sign or submit with respect to an early 401K withdrawal I made. The software covered my federal penalties for the fed return, but obviously overlooked the 2.5% penalty I should have paid California. I am going to pay the CA FTB the tax they are rightfully owed, but as far as I am concerned, this is not my error -- it is TurboTaxes -- and they should pay the interest.
