Missouri returns will not be ready for e-filing until 1/23/2025 per Turbotax website. Not sure how your Illinois return was accepted. Federal e-filing is not supposed to open until late January and states do not accept their returns unless the federal is accepted.
Well, the IL tax filing probably hasn't been "Accepted" yet.
It's just that IL allows e-filing their forms now, even if they are just going to sit on the TTX servers until the Federal forms have been accepted later this month.
@dstrat90 You may not be able to actually e-file those MO forms, until AFTER the IRS and IL forms have been accepted (or rejected....that's also a possibility). The 23 Jan date for MO can't be used now since the IRS forms are waiting for IRS action. You have to wait for their response first.
Never file in January!.....Always wait until Feb (March is safer)
Good afternoon! I’m unable to file my Missouri return. Originally it said available to file 1/23/25. Now it says ready soon. I’ve never had this issue before. Are the forms still processing despite it being past 1/23/25?
Same here, it's saying due to legal changes it isn't ready yet (1/27/25). Came here wondering about more information on it myself.

Some issues with getting the MO forms ready (in the software) has delayed the main MO forms until on/after 30 January, so come back and check again on 31 January.
(if using desktop software, you have to run the software update)
BUT some supplemental MO forms will not be ready until on/after 13 February, so filing MO could be delayed further if you happen to have some of those other forms in your MO tax file.
Mostly these 13 Feb are KC related, but credit for taxes paid to another state (MO-CR) is also delayed until 13 Feb....as well as the MO-2210.
See MO forms availability:
@SteamTrain Thank you for the detailed information, much appreciated. Very helpful and a relief to have more details as well as an ETA
