Why amI being charged for state return?

I bought Turbo Tax Premier with a free state return, and it even asked if I wanted to use it and I said yes. On the final screens it is charging me the $25 fee. Why?? It's supposed to be free. Please help.

E-filing fee in desktop software

Did you purchase desktop software with state software included?  They sell Deluxe both with and without state software--so you have to be careful which one you choose.  And even if it does have the state software download included, that is for preparing the state.  There is an extra fee to e-file the state.  You can avoid the state e-file fee if you print and mail the state instead of e-filing it.

I purchased the premier software and am supposed to receive one free state e-file, why am I being charged $25.  I upgraded to premier for the sole purpose of being able to file my MO state return for free. The fact that the system is trying to charge me $25 for a service I already paid for is unacceptable.  Please indicate how this issue can be fixed.

There is nothing to fix.   When you use the CD/download you get the software to prepare a state return.  There is an extra fee to e-file the state.  You can avoid the state e-file fee by printing and mailing the state instead of e-filing it.
