Some federal forms do not yet have the IRS final draft available and states do not finalize some of their forms until the federal ones are ready. The federal form will need to be complete before the state return can be finished. The IRS plans to begin accepting e-files on January 29th. The federal form will not be delayed if the state form is not yet filed.
Please click on Review, on the left menu. You may see a message "Some of your tax forms are not ready". Below the message, you can select the link that says "I want to sign up for email notifications. "
Below are the expected release dates for the state forms. Simply scroll down to your state and select your version of Turbo Tax for a list of forms and expected dates. You will see that the e-file date and the print date are sometimes different.
When your state forms are finalized, Open Turbo Tax and Click on the State, on the left menu, to open and finish your state return.
