The amount of tax you owe in KY, likely from your 2016 return. There are two ways to find this information. The first would be to check your 2016 tax return (line 29 of KY Form 740 or line 8 of KY Form 740EZ). If you don't see it there, then you can see how much KY tax was taken from your paychecks, and then subtract any refund or add on an additional amount you had to pay. If afterwards you amended the return, that result would again be modified by subtracting additional refund or adding any amount you still had to pay back.
If you used TurboTax last year, the amount in that field should be the correct number unless you had an amended return. With an amended return, you either subtract additional refund or add additional amount owed.
What if you didn't file last year because you weren't working?
